Guests saddled up for night of fun to support Westfield Washington Public Library
The Westfield Library Foundation’s (WLF) first-ever Cowboy Carnival brought a little Wild West flair to the Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) Saturday night, Nov. 1 – raising more than $25,000 to support innovative programs and services for library patrons.

The adults-only fundraiser treated guests to line dancing, live country music, BBQ, casino tables, ax throwing, and even a mechanical bull. The evening also marked the debut of the Foundation’s annual Christmas Tree Raffle, featuring six professionally designed holiday trees available for bid throughout November.
“This event was every bit as fun as we imagined,” WLF Executive Director Erin Downey said. “We had people two-stepping, cheering on the bull riders, and bidding on phenomenal silent auction items. You really couldn’t ask for a better mix of fun and philanthropy.”
Funds raised through the Cowboy Carnival will help WLF continue its mission to enhance library services and fund innovative programming at WWPL.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the Foundation’s creativity and dedication, and for the overwhelming support from our community,” WWPL Executive Director Sheryl Sollars said. “Events like the Cowboy Carnival remind us how much people value their library and the experiences it makes possible.”
