On Wednesday, Nov. 19, Sheridan High School (SHS) held another Future Fair for students. These college and career fairs are put on each quarter for students to gain insight into the business, schools, and opportunities that await them after high school and beyond.
At this quarter’s Future Fair, students were able to meet and speak with representatives from a variety of post-high school opportunities such as businesses and organizations in the areas of agriculture and farming as well as animal, health, public, and social services.
Businesses or organizations that were at the Future Fair are listed below. These representatives are invited to SHS by Jill Cali, who leads the Early College program at Sheridan and helps to prepare the students for their future.
- ResCare Community Living
- Hamilton County Health Department
- ABG Ag Services
- United Animal Health
- Trinity Free Clinic
- Aspire Indiana Health
- Keystone Cooperative
- Bane-Welker Equipment
- Ivy Tech Community College
- DNR Law Enforcement
- Family Promise of Hamilton County
- Teter Organic Farm
- The Vet Tech Institute of Indiana
- Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department
- Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County
Every day, teachers and staff at Sheridan are influencing and encouraging students to put their best foot forward so they are better prepared and ready for the world beyond the halls of Sheridan High School. Ms. Cali put it best when she said, “Even if you think you know your future plans, you never know when you’ll connect with someone who can help you later down the road.”
Sheridan Community Schools plans to continue growing the Early College program in the future so that every student gets support on their next steps, whether it is college, career, or both.
If you and your business and organization are interested in being a part of the next Future Fair, please email Cali at jcali@sheridan.k12.in.us.
