Westfield’s boys basketball team began the season with a 63-52 victory Tuesday at Scecina.
The Shamrocks led 12-10 after one quarter and 30-19 at halftime. Drew Haffner scored 10 points for Westfield, including three 3-pointers. Wyatt Freehauf contributed eight points.
The Rocks poured in 20 points in the period to take further control of the game, with Haffner scoring another seven points. He finished the game with 20 points, scoring at least three points in every quarter and making five triples.
Freehauf had 13 points, also scoring in each quarter, while Luke Vandegriff totaled 10 points.
Westfield plays its home opener next Tuesday, hosting Pendleton Heights at CSI Gymnasium.
