Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen announced on Friday, Nov. 7 that due to the federal government shutdown, the city will collect non-perishable food items in the lobby at City Hall, 16 S. 10th St., as a lead into the Noblesville Fire Department’s 48th annual Food and Toy Drive.
Food will be collected from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until Thursday, Nov. 13. The food will be donated to the White River Christian Church Food Pantry.

“In times of uncertainty with the government shutdown, the City of Noblesville will continue to give back and help our neighbors along with dedicated nonprofits and faith groups working constantly to address food insecurity,” Mayor Jensen said. “Local communities do not have the luxury of shutting down and we also won’t turn our back on our most vulnerable. I encourage anyone who is able to help to consider dropping off food to City Hall. Noblesville is glad to play a small part in amplifying and supplementing efforts in this critical time of need.”
In addition to the food drive, the Noblesville Fire Department is accepting canned goods, non-perishable food items, and new, unwrapped toys from Monday, Nov. 10 through Friday, Dec. 5. Donations may be dropped off at any of the city’s fire stations or at City Hall. Deliveries to the families will take place Saturday, Dec. 13.
