The S.A.F.E. House, a unique two-story educational facility built inside Carmel Fire Headquarters, offers free programming to the public. Originally designed for school-aged children to learn about home, wheel, weather, and water safety, the program has expanded to include senior workshops, first-time homeowner education, and fall prevention training in addition to other classes.
“Safety education is for everyone,” S.A.F.E. House Educator John Mehling said. “We’re proud to bring life-saving knowledge to seniors and new homeowners in our community.”
Groups interested in scheduling a program are encouraged to call S.A.F.E. House Coordinator Captain Renee Butts at (317) 571-4245.
