The Westfield freshman football team finished its season Saturday, Oct. 18 with a 30-12 win over Franklin Central.
The Shamrocks jumped out to a 7-0 lead with a Shon Edmond touchdown run. A successful surprise onside kick followed, with Anderson Corya converting the good field position into a field goal. A second successful onside kick was followed by a long touchdown strike from Greyson Hampton to Jay Crumedy.
The defense did not see the field for the first six minutes of game time, finally taking the field with Westfield holding a 17-0 lead. A Quinn Hackman touchdown rumble, as well as two additional Corya field goals, resulted in a strong showing for the freshmen Rocks, as they concluded the year with a 6-3 record overall.
