On Oct. 10, the Sheridan Elementary School Wilderness Club visited the well-loved McCormick’s Creek State Park in Owen County. Five students attended this excursion as they hiked Wolf Cave.
This strenuous two-mile round-trip trail was beautiful, and these young explorers were brave enough to make it all the way through.
While at McCormick’s Creek, students were also able to enjoy the playground and the Nature Center. Inside the center, students were able to learn about the history of the area as well get a sneak peek into some other aspects of the park.
“It was a great day with beautiful weather!” Club Sponsor Michelle Ells said. “We are looking forward to another field trip on November 1 to Prophetstown State Park.”
