Carmel cruised to another win on Friday, Oct. 10, taking care of past and future Metropolitan Conference opponent Warren Central 42-7 at Carmel Stadium.
The Greyhounds kept their feet on the ground, rushing for 306 yards and five touchdowns. Andrew Pemberton and Josiah Gilmore both scored twice in the first half, with Pemberton reaching the end zone from six yards in the opening quarter and one yard in the second quarter.
Gilmore also scored one TD in each period. He ran in from 30 yards in the first quarter, then took a three-yard run into the end zone early in the second.
Anthony Coellner threw one touchdown pass, a 74-yard toss to Carson Clark late in the third quarter to give Carmel a 35-7 halftime lead. Coellner ran for a third-quarter touchdown, a nine-yard score that instituted a running clock.
Pemberton gained 171 yards on 25 carries. Matthew Obermeier made all six extra-point kicks.
The Greyhounds are 7-1 and finish the regular season this Friday at Lawrence Central.
