Sheridan suffered its first Hoosier Heartland Conference loss of the year on Friday, Oct. 10, falling 47-18 at Eastern.
The Comets came roaring out of the gate, leading 27-0 after the first quarter. Eastern led 30-2 at halftime; the Blackhawks got a safety midway through the second period.
Sheridan scored its first touchdown early in the third quarter after Hayden Alexander raced 83 yards to the end zone. Brock Hagan made a two-point run. Landon Moffatt caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Hagan in the fourth quarter; Hagan threw a two-point pass to Jaden Dunbar afterwards.
Alexander for 155 yards on seven carries.
The Blackhawks are now tied with Eastern and Carroll for first place in the HHC standings, with all three teams holding 4-1 conference records. Sheridan hosts Carroll this Friday to finish conference and regular-season play. The Hawks are 5-2 overall.
