The Sheridan girls soccer team scored two overwhelming victories to start the week.
On Monday, the Class 1A No. 10 Blackhawks beat Rossville 11-0 to stay on top of the Hoosier Heartland Conference standings at 3-0. Sheridan led 9-0 at halftime; the Blackhawks honored their four seniors – Makenzy Terry, Ji Warren, Brianna Duke and Norah Stites – during the break.

“As a coach, it has been a privilege to guide these young women, to teach them, and to watch them grow into leaders within our school,” said Hawks coach Brian Prange. “I am confident they will continue to find success as they move on to their next journeys in life.”
Avery Hills scored three goals, while Sadie Timme, Warren and Stites all put in two goals. Emily Burner and Khloe Goebel both scored one goal. Hills dished out two assists, with Cambrey Bradford, Abby Dallas and Warren each making one assist. Terry had one goalkeeper save.
Sheridan rolled past Benton Central 9-0 on Tuesday, leading 6-0 at halftime. Hills again led the scoring with four goals and also handed out one assist. Timme had two goals and two assists, Brielle Garner scored two goals and Stites added one goal. Savanna Kirlin dished out two assists, while Terry, Jada Trietsch and Dallas each handed out one assist. Terry also made five saves.
The Blackhawks are 9-3-1 for the season. Sheridan finishes the regular season Thursday with a conference game at Taylor; a win would clinch an unbeaten championship campaign for the Blackhawks.

Hamilton Southeastern, the No. 1 team in 3A, beat 2A No. 12 Guerin Catholic 3-0 on Monday.
Riley Boyd, Blair Satterfield and Sydney May all scored one goal for the Royals, with Boyd, Sloane May and Bailey Sapp each dishing out one assist. Hannah Dodge got the shutout as goalkeeper. Southeastern is 14-0-1 with one more regular-season match to play, tonight at Mt. Vernon.
The Golden Eagles were playing their second top-ranked team in three days. On Saturday, Sept. 26, Guerin Catholic hosted South Bend St. Joseph, the No. 1 team in 2A. The Huskies won the back-and-forth game 3-2.

Chloe Henderzahs scored GC’s first goal on a corner kick, then Annie DeBone scored the second goal. St. Joseph scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick in the second half.
The Golden Eagles are 3-11-1, but are playing the toughest schedule in Class 2A, and one of the top 10 toughest schedules across all classes. Guerin Catholic coach Sean Yau also is happy with the team’s progress, especially considering there are five freshmen and three sophomores on the Golden Eagles varsity team.
“The progress is probably the thing that makes me the happiest and the proudest, because despite us having so many losses, the girls come into training every single day, making sure that they’re going forward and they don’t look in the past and they keep trying to get better at the details,” said Yau after the St. Joseph game.
Guerin Catholic finishes the regular season Thursday by hosting Fishers.

Carmel won an all-county game on Monday, beating 3A No. 5 Westfield 1-0 at Murray Stadium.
Adalyn Cameron scored the 3A No. 3 Greyhounds’ goal, with Elsie Flanders making the assist. Freshman goalkeeper Gwyneth Provost had three saves.
Carmel played to a 2-2 tie with Zionsville on Saturday, Sept. 27. Cameron scored both goals and Provost had three saves.
The Greyhounds finished the regular season 13-2-1 and now move to Sectional 9 play, where they take on host Zionsville Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Westfield beat 3A No. 7 Crown Point 7-2 Saturday, Sept. 27. Elle Fischer scored two goals, with Arriana Cooke-Dennis, Aryana Ali, Addie Colling, Avery Van Den Berg and Talia Edwards each getting one goal. Ali dished out two assists, followed by one each for Zahara Ali, Kylie Ipsen and Cooke-Dennis.
The Shamrocks are 12-2-1 and finish the regular season tonight with a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Avon.

Hamilton Heights won the third-place game in the Hoosier Conference tournament Saturday, Sept. 27 by beating Lafayette Central Catholic 1-0.
Freshman Skyler Worthman scored the Huskies’ goal, with fellow freshman Mackenzie Cumston making the assist. Senior goalkeeper Audrey Lang had 10 saves.
Heights defeated Ben Davis 2-1 on Monday. Macy Bradley and Cumston both scored one goal, with Lang collecting 13 saves.
The Huskies are 10-7 and host Pendleton Heights tonight to finish the regular season.

University won its Senior Night game Monday 3-1 over Herron.
Mack Feeney, Lauren Quinto and Lia Stennis all scored goals for the Trailblazers.
University dropped a Tuesday game to Triton Central 3-1 to finish the regular season. The Blazers are 9-6 and play Covenant Christian Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Class 1A Sectional 41 at Cardinal Ritter.

The Millers are 7-5-1 and finish their regular season tonight at Franklin Central in an HCC contest.
