The Hamilton Southeastern and Noblesville girls soccer teams easily won first-round matches at Class 3A Sectional 8 Wednesday and will meet tonight in the semifinals at the Royals’ field.
No. 1-ranked Southeastern beat Anderson 10-1 in the opening game. Riley Brydges scored two goals for the Royals, with Kherington Patton adding one goal and making one assist. Kaylee Reitmeier dished out two assists.
Seven more HSE players scored one goal: Addison McClain, Rebekah Tekrony, Sydney May, Sloane May, Margaux Henning, Olivia Moore and Grace Gerstner. Izzie Springer handed out one assist.
The 3A No. 16 Millers beat Mt. Vernon 6-0 in Wednesday’s second game. Corynn Fleck scored three goals, while Sophie Hedges, Delaney Stone and Ellison Willis all scored one goal.
Tonight’s semifinals begin with Fishers playing Muncie Central at 5:30 p.m., then Southeastern and Noblesville face off at 7:15 p.m.

Carmel reached the semifinals of 3A Sectional 9 by beating host and No. 4-ranked Zionsville 1-0 on Wednesday.
Adalyn Cameron scored the No. 3-ranked Greyhounds’ goal.
Carmel plays Cathedral in tonight’s second semifinal, which will start around 7:30 p.m. Fifth-ranked Westfield plays Lawrence North in the first semifinal at 5:30 p.m.

University upset No. 13 Covenant Christian 1-0 in the first round of Class 1A Sectional 41 at Cardinal Ritter on Wednesday.
Lia Stennis scored the Trailblazers’ goal in the 53rd minute. Annie Ingersoll got the goalkeeper shutout.
University plays Christel House in tonight’s second semifinal, which will start around 7 p.m. Sixth-ranked Heritage Christian and Bethesda Christian will play the first semifinal beginning at 5 p.m.
