The Hamilton County Veterans Corp. (HCVC) has begun preparing for the Hamilton County Community Resource Fair, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Boys and Girls Club of Noblesville, 1700 Conner St.
This free event is open to the public to promote a stronger and more connected Hamilton County.
“We hope to reach as many of our Military/Veteran population as possible and to encourage our whole community to stop in and see what we are doing to connect our neighbors to the resources/benefits that can help them live a more fulfilled life here in Hamilton County,” HCVC Secretary Bill Doss said. “The more we learn about our neighbor’s issues, needs and the resources readily available to address those issues and needs, the more connected and stronger we will be as a community of friends helping friends/Veterans Serving Veterans.”
This Community Resource Fair will feature more than 90 booth spaces representing numerous resources for the military veteran community and all residents of Hamilton County. Some of the free resources offered will include providers and outreach specialists from the Veterans Benefits Administration, Veterans Health Administration for health and mental health, county Veteran Service Officers, Indiana Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Readiness and Employment, Military OneSource, Indiana WorkOne, Hamilton County Health Department, recovery/rehab/senior care, mental health, wellness and suicide awareness, housing, homelessness, insurance – home – auto – life – Social Security, retirement, legal, financial, faith-based, education, employment, family programs, HVAF of Indiana, and so much more.
“The resources we have partnered with bring their extensive support, services, and expertise to one convenient location for all who attend so they may know how and who to connect with to address their concerns/needs,” Doss said. “As our guests visit the resource tables, they will have access to a wealth of information that can help them make informed decisions and discover resources and benefits they may not know were theirs to have!”
This free public event is presented and coordinated by HCVC with many thanks to these sponsors: IU Health, Duke Energy, American Legion Post 470 in Fishers, Carmel American Legion Post 155, Carmel VFW Post 10003, Navy Club Ship 29, the IDVA, Starbucks, and RISE Fest.
