Eyler
Danica Eyler has been appointed as a Hamilton County Magistrate and will primarily serve in Superior Court 1 and Circuit Court beginning Monday, Oct. 27.
Magistrates serve at the pleasure of Hamilton County’s elected judges and preside over a wide variety of cases, ranging from civil disputes and including family law matters to criminal proceedings.
Eyler is a graduate of the IU McKinney School of Law and has spent the past 20 years practicing as a private attorney, primarily handling cases in Hamilton County over the last seven. She is stepping down from her partnership at Webster & Garino, LLC, a law firm in Westfield where she focused primarily on family law.
“I am honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to serve on the bench and am committed to doing so with integrity and fairness,” Eyler said.
In addition to her appointment, Eyler is also seeking election to Hamilton County Superior Court 8, a new court set to be established at the end of next year. Due to population growth, Hamilton County courts have faced a significant increase in both civil and criminal cases. She says she is dedicated to helping ensure residents’ cases are heard in a timely manner.
Eyler indicated that the experience she will receive serving as a Magistrate will make her well prepared when it comes to building the new Hamilton County Superior Court 8.
“Experience and preparation are key for the two new Courts beginning Jan. 1, 2027,” she said. “I look forward to using my preparation and specific experience in the new Court 8.”
A robing ceremony will take place at the Hamilton County Judicial Center later this year.
