The Carmel girls cross country team put together a remarkable performance at the Nike Twilight meet, which took place Saturday, Oct. 4 at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute.
The Greyhounds easily won the team title, scoring 74 points. Carmel landed three runners in the top 10: Annabel Pollert placed fifth in 17 minutes, 31.29 seconds, Sadie Foley placed seventh in 17:35.22 and Larkin Taylor was eighth in 17:37.83.
Margo Halle finished 36th (18:41.02), while Kaitlyn Oshimura placed 49th (18:56.36). Other Greyhounds runners were: 103. Maddie Cox 19:27.80, T104. Anna Yoon 19:28.53, 120. Lilliana Cate 19:36.24, 137. Ashley Kent 19:48.51, 207. Elise Maurer 20:25.63.
Westfield scored 297 points, placing seventh as a team. Alivia Lozier finished 25th to lead the Shamrocks, clocking in at 18:15.92. Other Westfield runners were: 53. Jenna Burns 18:59.76, 67. Guerin Catholic totaled 422 points to finish in 10th place. Chloe Tragesser led the Golden Eagles by placing 29th in a time of 18:29.60.

Fishers placed 12th as a team with 439 points. Caitlin Hawkins took 12th individually to lead the Tigers, finishing in a time of 17:55.46.

Noblesville finished 13th with 460 points. Jayde Stamm led the Millers by placing 35th with a time of 18:37.48.

Hamilton Southeastern had three runners compete. Ali Johnson placed 110th in 19:30.15, Anissa Lammie finished 244th in 20:54.06 and Danika Harris placed 262nd in 21:04.24.

In the boys race, Noblesville finished as runner-up to Columbus North. The Bull Dogs scored 115 points to win, with the Millers scoring 187 points.
Banner Barnes led Noblesville with a 10th-place finish, clocking in at 15:01.9. Other Millers runners were: 15. John Libs 15:09.3, 27. Isaiah Vohs 15:29.6, 61. Cooper Click 15:49.4, 113. Hamilton Heights swept the Bluffton Stan Gilbert Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The Huskies’ girls scored 21 points, placing all six of their runners in the top 20. Lillian Higgins was the individual runner-up, clocking in at 19:56.1. Matilda Higgins placed fourth in 20:56.2 and Amira Leer finished fifth with a time of 21:08.3.
Ayla Madara (eighth, 21:28.1) and Selah Heuer (10th, 23:06.0) also landed in the top 10. Hattie Graham placed 18th, with a time of 24:55.7.
The Huskies’ boys team scored 31 points to win that division, taking three of the top five places. Aiden Clarke finished third with a time of 17:27.7, followed by Hudson Holt in fourth (17:33.8) and Isaiah Heuer in fifth (17:37.0).
Nicholas Bragg also reached the top 10, placing seventh in 17:40.7. Heights’ other top seven runners were Charles Wedmore in 12th (18:01.7), Will Monnin in 13th (18:03.0) and Thomas Girolamo in 14th (18:09.2).
