For the second year in a row, the Class 3A Sectional 9 game between Carmel and Noblesville came down to a penalty-kick shootout.

The No. 3-ranked Greyhounds won for the second year in a row, edging past the No. 11 Millers 4-3 in the shootout after the two teams played to a scoreless tie in Wednesday’s first semifinal game. As a result, Carmel advanced to Saturday’s championship game.
Noblesville led 1-0 after Jackson Morris made the first penalty kick. But after that, the Greyhounds made the next four, with Troy Enslin, Max Householder, Alex Rubin and Quinn Wu all making their kicks.
Ashton Hancock and Quinn Johnston also made PKs for the Millers.
Carmel plays No. 19 Zionsville in the Sectional 9 championship, which starts at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Eagles beat Brebeuf Jesuit 3-1 in the second semifinal. Alex Parr, Aspen Klatte and Arron Habecker all got goals for Zionsville, while Olin Healy scored for the Braves.

Class 2A Sectional 24 Guerin Catholic reached the championship game at its own field, beating Western Boone 12-0 in a Wednesday semifinal game.
The No. 2 Golden Eagles play No. 3 Park Tudor, a 3-0 winner over No. 19 Heritage Christian, in the championship game, which begins at 2 p.m. Saturday.

University advanced to the Class 1A Sectional 40 championship game by defeating host North Putnam 4-0 in the Wednesday semifinals.
Bruno Lukin scored three goals, with Julian Eli adding one goal.
The Trailblazers play No. 1 Covenant Christian in the Saturday final, which starts at 2 p.m.
