Hamilton County Parks and Recreation (HCPR), in partnership with the Hamilton County Health Department, has launched a new Bike Share program at Strawtown Koteewi Park.
Bike racks are located at the White River Campground along the Steve Nation Trail as well as at the Taylor Center of Natural History.
The new Bike Share program makes exploring Strawtown Koteewi Park easier than ever. Riders can check out bikes for a scenic ride through the park’s trails with picturesque views of the White River, prairie, and woodlands. The program is designed to promote both recreation and wellness by encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy outdoor activity in Hamilton County’s largest park.
“The Bike Share program adds another layer of opportunity for our visitors to experience Strawtown Koteewi Park,” HCPR Director Chris Stice said. “Whether you’re camping at the White River Campground or visiting the Taylor Center of Natural History, it’s a healthy and fun way to explore the park’s natural beauty.”
“Active living and outdoor recreation are key to improving community health,” Health Department Administrator Jason LeMaster said. “Partnerships like this help make physical activity more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
Bikes can be easily rented at $1.50 per 30 minutes using a smartphone app or onsite kiosk; just remember to bring your own helmet. The program supports Hamilton County’s ongoing efforts to promote healthy living and enhance park experiences.
