On Friday, Sept. 5, Walmart surprised two local companies, Tartar Shield of Noblesville and Archtek Dental of Carmel, with the news that they are invited to pitch their American-made products to Walmart buyers in a daylong event called Open Call.
Open Call is an exciting and unique opportunity for entrepreneurs with shelf-ready products made, sourced, or grown in the U.S. to come to Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., on Oct. 7 and 8 to potentially get their product in the hands of millions of Walmart customers.
The local entrepreneurs believed they were coming to the store to pitch their products to store managers in hopes of getting to attend Open Call. However, leadership instead surprised them with the news that they are already approved to attend the event.
This is the big break they’ve been looking for – an invitation to pitch their locally made products in the hopes that they will make it onto a Walmart shelf near you.
