The Carmel High School Planetarium Club invites you “Big Astronomy: People, Places, Discoveries.”
This show will explore three observatories located in Chile at extreme and remote places. The show gives examples of the multitude of STEM careers needed to keep the great observatories working.
This show is also a celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. During the program, contributions of Chilean Astronomers to the science of Astronomy will be highlighted. Also, as part of the show, attendees will have a live night sky tour using the beautiful night sky simulator, GOTO Chronos. This will be a fun and educational show for the entire family.
Rojas-Ayala
The show will be narrated by Bárbara Rojas-Ayala, a Chilean astronomer.
The presentation will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 in the Carmel High School Planetarium and will last approximately 45 minutes. Click here for tickets. This presentation is suitable for audiences age 8 and above.
Enter through the main entrance of the school on Main Street, come in Door No. 1 South, walk past the Dale Graham Auditorium, and turn right. Doors will open 20 minutes before show time. No one will be admitted after the program begins. Children aged 12 years and younger should be accompanied by an adult.
