Sheridan took care of business in its Hoosier Heartland Conference opener Friday, Sept. 12, rolling past old rival Clinton Central 40-0.
The Blackhawks scored in every quarter, with Hayden Alexander running in three touchdowns. Alexander scored his first TD in the opening period, blasting off 85 yards to the end zone. Alexander ran for a four-yard touchdown to begin the second quarter, then took off on another long run, 64 yards, in the third quarter.
Jon Barnes scored touchdowns on short runs during the third and fourth periods. Brock Hagan punched the ball in from the one-yard line in the second quarter, after which he made a two-point conversion run. Hagan also threw a two-point pass to Chance Spencer.
Alexander finished the game with 157 yards, while Barnes gained 106 yards.
Sheridan is 2-1 overall and hosts Clinton Prairie this Friday to continue HHC play.
