The Carmel cross country teams swept the championships at the Brownsburg Invitational Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Greyhounds dominated the girls race, scoring 33 points and finishing well ahead of runner-up Franklin Central’s 100 points. Annabel Pollert (17 minutes, 23.03 seconds), Larkin Taylor (17:32.21) and Sadie Foley (17:44.08) finished 2-3-4 for Carmel. Indian Creek’s Libby Dowty won in a time of 17:04.30.
Margo Halle placed seventh for Carmel, clocking in at 18:35.46. Also racing for the ‘Hounds were: 17. Kaitlyn Oshimura, 19:03.47, 19. Anna Yoon 19:05.32, 21. Elise Maurer 19:08.40, 22. In the boys race, Carmel held off Brownsburg 63-66 for the team championship. The Greyhounds were led by Jonah Kaul (15:38.65), Deklin Bowser (15:39.29) and Zach Flint (15:39.53), who finished 9-10-11.

The Westfield boys won the Harrison Invitational Saturday, Sept. 5.
The Shamrocks scored 93 points, just ahead of runner-up Penn’s 102. Bryce Pittman led Westfield by placing 12th in 16:07.5. Nathan McKeever took 14th in 16:09.9, while Luke Moulder finished 16h in 16:11.2.

Fishers competed at the Terre Haute North State Preview meet Saturday, Sept. 5 at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course, the site of the IHSAA state finals.
The Tigers placed second in the boys meet, scoring 49 points. Center Grove won the meet with 42 points. Fishers had the individual race winner: Nate Thomas won by a comfortable margin, finishing in 15:51.00.
Declan Mohr placed sixth in 16:12.86, while Mason Lapp finished eighth in 16:24.09. Other Tigers runners were: 13. Reece Torres 16:30.87, 21. Brady FitzGerald 16:38.99, 24. Kale Ormes 16:45.36, 26. Noblesville traveled to Columbus North Saturday, Sept. 6 for the Rick Weinheimer Invitational.
In the boys meet, the Millers placed second to the host Bull Dogs in the AA division. Columbus North scored 42 points to Noblesville’s 53; the Bull Dogs placed five runners in the top 12.
John Libs led the Millers, taking third in 14:58.82. Isaiah Vohs clocked in at 15:09.93 for fourth place, while Banner Barnes finished eighth in a time of 15:12.45.
