Hamilton County Republican Women (HCRW) have announced Tina Mangos as the 2025 Woman of the Year. The announcement was made at the Indiana Federation of Republican Women “Tribute to Women” dinner on Saturday, Aug. 23.
It all started when Tina and her family stepped off the boat in the New York Harbor in the late ‘50s. Her journey ended in downtown Gary, Ind., where her “blue collar childhood” instilled a strong work ethic and appreciation of our country.
Mangos holds master’s degrees in fine arts and education. Most of her adult life was spent in Chicago, running businesses in the arts and teaching in the Chicago Public Schools. She believes that “politics is community,” and she has used the arts to influence and educate diverse clients, from tutoring gang members to teaching multi-millionaires to dance. She organized cultural events for Chicago Sister Cities/Athens committee.
Having moved to Carmel after retiring, she continues her community involvement.
Mangos volunteers her creative services for youth and senior programs, along with organizing fundraising activities, such as an art fair to raise money for homeless vets. She volunteers for Carmel Police Department activities and for her church charities. She also serves on Carmel’s public arts commission.
Mangos is a precinct committee person and volunteers at various Republican functions.
Congratulations on receiving this honor.
