The Guerin Catholic volleyball team improved to 7-0 on the season with a sweep of Bishop Chatard Thursday at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles have only dropped one set so far this season. Guerin Catholic began the year with a sweep at Northwestern Aug. 19, then won its home opener Aug. 21 in four sets over New Palestine.
After that, GC won the Covenant Christian Invitational on Aug. 23, with three two-set victories over Speedway, Greenfield-Central and Covenant Christian. Guerin Catholic beat Mt. Vernon Tuesday before its win over Chatard.
Emery Cardinal is leading the offense for the Golden Eagles, with 61 kills during Guerin’s first six matches. (Stats from the Chatard match were not available at press time.) Freshman Reese Canada had 41 kills. Maddie Fritch and Claire Ducey had 33 digs and 31 digs respectively.
Guerin Catholic’s next match is Saturday morning at Noblesville.

Hamilton Heights emerged victorious in a five-set match over Lawrence North on Thursday.
The Huskies won 22-25, 30-28, 18-25, 25-13, 17-15. Addie Doak led Heights with solid serving and passing.
The Huskies are 10-2 and host Guerin Catholic on Tuesday.
