The Guerin Catholic baseball team cruised to a 14-0, five-inning win at Bishop Chatard Wednesday in a Circle City Conference game.
The Golden Eagles scored three runs in the first inning and four more in the third, then put up seven runs in the fifth inning.
Ian Taylor and Carson Kail both hit home runs, while Ben Canada smacked two doubles. Both Taylor and Canada were 3-for-4 at the plate and batted in three runs. Taylor, Nolan Ratcliff, Bryce Kissell and Karson Smith all hit one double, and Taylor scored three runs.
Tate Troxell pitched four innings for the win, striking out seven. Troxell cleared the 200-strikeout milestone during the game.
The Golden Eagles are 7-0-1 and host Bishop Chatard tonight to complete the conference series; the game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was postponed due to weather.

Westfield played to a 1-1 tie at Cathedral on Wednesday.
Robbie Brandenburg scored the Shamrocks’ run on an error in the second inning. The Irish tied the game in the fourth inning, and the score stayed 1-1 until the game was called in the eighth inning.
Reid Dikos hit a double, one of Westfield’s five hits. Ben Spencer pitched 4.2 innings, striking out four.
The Shamrocks are 4-3-1. Westfield played in the East Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Tournament last weekend, with losses to Grace Christian Academy 4-3 and Heritage High 9-2, followed by win over Maryville 5-3 and Gibbs 10-9.
The Rocks host Brownsburg at 6 p.m. tonight in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

University lost an away game 4-1 at Alexandria on Wednesday in a Pioneer Conference game.
The Trailblazers scored their run in the third inning when Ethan Cutsinger got home on a wild pitch.
Beckett Suh had two hits for University.
The Blazers are 5-5 and host Greenwood Christian Academy on Friday.
