Weeklong camp helps younger Scouts earn five badges in a week
Girl Scout Troop 1887 from Carmel High School will host a Summer Badge Camp for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors.
The weeklong, half-day camp is scheduled to take place June 1 to 5 at the Carmel Lions Club, 141 E. Main St., from 8 a.m. to noon each day. The camp is a fundraiser for the troop’s Gold Award projects, the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve.
“These girls, many of whom have been Girl Scouts since kindergarten, have a deep appreciation of scouting,” Troop Leader Tammy Sander said. “They’re natural leaders and compassionate mentors who can’t wait to share their love for scouting with younger girls.”
Campers will earn five badges during the week: Animals, First Aid, Craft & Tinker, Healthy Living, and Entrepreneurship. Activities are hands-on, creative, and designed to inspire curiosity and confidence. The camp is open to all girls, regardless of whether they’re enrolled in Girl Scouts.
“Last year was our very first Summer Badge Camp, and it was even more fun than we imagined,” Senior Girl Scout Roxy Stock said. “We loved getting to plan activities that made learning fun. Now word is spreading, and camp is filling up quickly because families heard how much fun it was. It’s really special to be part of that.”
Registration is open now through May 1, with a discounted rate of $200 per participant. Learn more at girl-scout-badge-camp-2026.cheddarup.com.
