On Thursday, March 5 several members of the Hamilton County Jail were recognized during a Promotions and Awards Ceremony for their professionalism, quick thinking, commitment to safety, and continued leadership within the department.
Life Saving Awards
On Jan. 15, Corrections Sgt. Dietz and Corrections Officer Sprinkle discovered an unresponsive inmate with no pulse and immediately began CPR.
Corrections Sgt. Mosley, Juvenile Corrections Sgt. Calhoun, and Officer Baldwin assisted with CPR and responded with an AED.
Nurse Regina Casey and Nurse Deja McCullough provided medical guidance and monitored the inmate until EMS arrived.
Through their coordinated and immediate actions, the inmate’s pulse was restored before EMS arrival. That inmate survived due to a quick response.
Off-Duty Response Medal of Merit
While off-duty on Nov. 2, 2025, Corrections Officer Hanna Cline stopped to assist after Cadiz Police Officer Douglas Barker was struck by a vehicle on State Road 38 in Henry County. She provided reassurance and care until medics arrived. The injured officer was airlifted to Methodist Hospital and later reported to be in stable condition.
Officer Barker attended the ceremony and was able to meet Officer Cline for the first time since the incident. It was a powerful and meaningful reunion.

Booking Safety Division Commander Award
Corrections Officer Kingen and Corrections Cpl. Santiago were awarded due to their attention to detail and ability to stop a potentially harmful situations from occurring at the corrections facility.

These promotions recognize their leadership, experience, and continued dedication to serving the department and our community.
