Special Olympics Hamilton County (SOHC) is celebrating the successful season of its two men’s basketball teams following Area 8 competition.

The Special Olympics Hamilton County Bulldogs finished the season as Area 8 Champions in the Blue Division, Level 2, demonstrating teamwork, perseverance, and skill throughout the season.
The Special Olympics Hamilton County Cardinals also had a great season, building teamwork and playing hard, earning second place in the Level 3 Area 8 Men’s Basketball division.
Special Olympics Hamilton County is a volunteer-led organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through sports, athletes develop physical fitness, build confidence, experience joy, and create meaningful relationships within their community.
Athletes must have an intellectual disability to participate in Special Olympics from age 8 to 108, providing that the opportunity to compete, grow, and belong truly lasts a lifetime.
All athletes participate free of charge, and all program expenses, including uniforms, equipment, facility rentals, and competition fees, are funded through donations raised locally by Special Olympics Hamilton County.
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
