The City of Tipton announces that the Tipton County Foundation (TCF) has pledged $100,000 to the Tipton Baseball Project. The contribution supports the city-led effort to advance construction of a new baseball complex for Tipton families and youth athletes.
The donation reflects the Foundation’s commitment to investing in projects that strengthen quality of life, support youth development, and create long-term impact across Tipton County.
“The Tipton County Foundation is honored to work with the City of Tipton on the new Pee Wee Field,” TCF Board Chair Abby Hobbs. “When our community comes together to create places where kids can thrive, the impact reaches far beyond the ballfield. This project will help build memories, friendships, and a strong sense of belonging for Tipton’s youngest athletes.”
The city launched a $1 million capital campaign in Fall 2025 to complement its $2 million investment in the project through an approved bond. As development continues, campaign funds will support enhanced amenities, upgraded materials, and design features that will strengthen the long-term function of the facility.
Mayor Kegan Schmicker emphasized the importance of institutional partners as the project continues to move forward.
“The Tipton County Foundation’s support represents a meaningful investment in a project that is already underway,” Mayor Schmicker said. “This contribution helps ensure we can deliver a facility that meets the needs of our community today and well into the future. We’re grateful for the Foundation’s partnership and their commitment to Tipton’s youth.”
In addition to providing recreational opportunities, the baseball project is being developed with a focus on the broader benefits of youth sports, including teamwork, physical activity, and personal growth.
“TCF is excited to support this project, which will be such an integral part of our community,” TCF Executive Director Mark Baird said. “Youth sports teach teamwork, improve physical fitness, and provide life lessons that will carry on for generations.”
When completed, the Tipton Baseball Project will include:
- A 350-foot Babe Ruth Diamond
- A 200-foot Cal Ripken Diamond
- A dedicated Pee Wee Diamond
- Concession and restroom facilities
- Spectator seating and public amenities
TCF’s contribution adds momentum to the city’s Home Field Advantage campaign and reinforces the strong support behind the project as work continues.
Residents, businesses, and community partners are encouraged to participate in the Home Field Advantage campaign. Naming opportunities, sponsorship packages, and individual giving options are available at LoveTipton.com.
